Installers On the Job

SpeedPro East Bay is a full service wide-format printing studio that can be your one stop shop. Many times, printers can provide the graphics but when it comes to installation, the client is on their own. Our team of installers are some of the best in the San Francisco Bay Area and they’ll show up ready to get the job done quickly and efficiently every time.

Here are some frequently asked questions when it comes to installation:

What can you install?

Our wide set of resources and installation teams allows us to offer installation for different projects based on the specs. We specialize in vinyl installations varying from wall murals, vehicle wraps, window graphics, and floor wraps. We also have installers that can install boat lettering, dimensional lettering and other fabricated signage. We do have some limitations on our signage installation as we are not licensed to install electrical signs and we also do not install hardware but feel free to contact us beforehand if you think your job falls into this category. We’re still happy to help with what we can or recommend people in our network.

Does the wall need to have a level 5 finish?

No, the wall does not need to have a level 5 finish. As long as there is no damage to the wall including nail holes, chipping paint, or excessive hardware, we can install a mural to your wall. You’ll also want to make sure that the paint has been on the wall for at least 2 weeks to ensure that the vinyl will stick and it will not fail.

Will the paint come off if we remove a wall mural or car wrap?

The short answer is no. We’ve removed vinyl from vehicles that have been on for decades and although it can be very difficult to remove the longer that it’s been on there, however it will not ruin the paint underneath. For walls, we can use a temporary wall material that will last up to 1 year without damaging the paint under or we can use another type of material that will last a lot longer and if the wall is prepped appropriately it will go unharmed.

How do I schedule an install?

We understand that you’re busy and we try very hard to work around your schedule. There may be some rare cases where our installers are already booked on a specific day, but we are super flexible and will make sure that you’re taken care of. Some installs need to be booked further out than others, again, depending on how big the project is. For smaller installs we can book them typically within 1 week and for larger ones we’re looking at about 1-2 weeks lead time.

How long will the installation take?

Depending on the scope of the project, installs can take anywhere from 1 hour, to a few hours, to a whole day. Sometimes installs can take more than one day but our installers will team up if this is the case to tackle the job in a timely manner.

What do I need to do before an install?

Each install may require different instructions beforehand. For vehicle wraps, we request that you bring in a clean vehicle. For window graphics, they don’t need to be power washed but they should be free from any excess dirt or grime. For boat lettering, we ask that you do not wax your boat beforehand as this will prevent the adhesive from sticking to the boat. For wall murals, as long as the wall has the proper paint finishing, no extra precautions are needed.

Will the install disrupt our work environment?

Your work environment and professional reputation is very important to us. Our installers understand that you’re conducting business and can’t always put that on hold for them to come in and do an install. With that in mind, we use freight elevators when we can, bring all of our own hardware and tools including ladders, and leave no mess behind. During the actual installation process, our installers work quietly and avoid excessive noise to ensure that we don’t disrupt your employees. They are very experienced and professional at all times and very friendly, so if you have questions while on-site, they’re happy to answer.

Can you do night or weekend installs?

Yes. As we mentioned, our installers are super flexible so we can definitely make this happen. Night or weekend installs may cost a bit more than a standard business day install depending on the project, but with enough lead time we can get this done.

If you’re ready to get started with your installation project or if you have any other questions that you did not see listed here, please feel free to contact us here or give us a call at 510-298-0699 and we look forward to working with you!
